Types of Pet Insurance
There are three kinds of Pet Insurance to choose from: lifetime cover, money-limit cover, and time-limit cover.
Lifetime Cover is the widely bought pet insurance which guards your dog against any long-term, critical, or chronic illness and conditions. In the money-limit cover, the pet owners get financial benefits until the money limit is reached to fulfil pets' medical expenses and can also take add-ons to receive mortality benefits, long-term care, and security against loss or theft of your dog. In contrast, the time-limited cover is for a specific period of time after the occurrence of illness or accident of your pet dog.

Exclusions in the Pet Insurance Policy
The problem with Indian pets is that most of them are not registered with The Kennel Club and they do not have hygienic health conditions and a proper pedigree record. The Kennel Club takes care of the registration of recognised pedigrees of purebred dogs and litters of dogs in India. Many pet insurance service providers do not include ailments like hepatitis, leptospirosis, distemper, etc., without the pet being vaccinated by a registered vet. If you mishandle your pet or lose it during warlike situations, the pet insurance may not cover the damages for the same. Hence, it becomes essential to go through various pet insurance policies, compare them, and then decide the best suited.
